Chelle Ponders...

Do groceries really need to be put away the same day you buy them.

Come ON!  I'm exhausted.

Maybe just the perishables, i.e. milk. But if you want to leave that out too, we can always make more.

Yes. You will only have to expend the energy later. We all know you are the one that has to put them away eventually, so you might as well get it over with!

good advice. but true to my nature, i did about 50 percent of the job. Yes, it would have only taken 5 min more to put the rest of the groceries away, instead i took them out of the bags and set them up nicely in the corner of the kitchen.

what an idiot!

Just leave them in the car. They stay fresher there than in the warm house. Just don't forget about them!!

Why do it at all? When it is on the counter it is easy to get at and you do not forget what you bought and hide it way in the back of the shelf. You use to leave the milk on the counter at our house for days. (smell it - still good)

Carol K has got something there. But you have to have a trusty big white styro cooler like hers.I often go by her house and see her trunk open with the goods inside it.Or you could leave the cereal on the countertop 'cause if you put it on the closet shelf the other other cereal boxes might fall down on your head! But thats just me.

k, this is just me but it would drive me nuts to see groceries that weren't put away every time i went into the kitchen. just do it right away and then forget about it! otherwise you agonize over it unnecessarily! but that's just me.

Oh my, I don't think I could stand not putting them away right away. Not that I enjoy the job, but it would bug me too much not to. I don't know about the idea of leaving them in your van since your van doors are usually open and who knows what stray creature might have a feast! You've been known to have mice problems in the van in the past too. Not such a good idea Carol, sorry. btw, Judy cracks me up!

Groceries on the counter? Chelle! I suppose you fold the fresh laundry and just stack in in the laundry room too.
Where is the satisfaction of putting it all away and knowing that the job is complete? Try it sometime! It really does feel good.
